Spreading joy through service

Holiday pie baking action was in full swing at Wessington Springs High School (WSHS) with 260 pies sold through the annual Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) pie sale.

City Infrastructure Project Surcharges to Begin Next Month

The Wessington Springs City Council took action in its regular monthly meeting held November 4 to begin surcharges next month for two major water main and sewer line replacement projects on College Avenue and 2nd Street.

Local Vietnam Vet Serves One Final Tour With Honor

Local Vietnam veteran Mark Schelske recently returned from a whirlwind trip of a lifetime, being among 85 veterans on the Midwest Honor Flight.
The Wessington Springs Middle School 8th grade Choices for Your Future class and Junior High FCCLA held a supper and silent auction on October 29, 2024 to raise funds for Mackenzie Kopceky as she battles brain cancer. Springs students hold fundraiser for Miller woman affected by brain cancer

Upon hearing about Mackenzie Kopceky’s brain cancer diagnosis, Wessington Springs Junior High student Jalene Reiner immediately felt a call to action and a desire to help.“Earlier this fall I heard about Mackenzie’s brain mass that was found to be cancerous.
