Continued dry conditions prompt Jerauld County to enact burn ban

Spurred by the recommendation from Wessington Springs and Alpena Fire Departments on top of a Red Flag Warning issued by the National Weather Service, Jerauld County Commissioners issued a burn ban for the county Friday, effective immediately.

Voices Wanted for WS Community Choir

Wessington Springs Community Choir rehearsals are underway and members say voices are wanted and welcomed to help prepare for the annual Christmas program scheduled in December.The next rehearsal is slated for Sunday, October 6 at 4 p.m. Rehearsals will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
