Grant Awarded to Abernathy Post 16

American Legion Abernathy Post 16 of Gann Valley was recently awarded a $1000 Operation Round-Up grant from Central Electric Cooperative to help purchase American Legion grave markers for Spring Hill Cemetery.
On track for completion the first week of August, the College Avenue infrastructure project is chugging right along with sanitary sewer and low-pressure water main complete. Up next, the street crew will arrive on scene with curb and gutter preparations on the schedule.

Access to health care limited in SD rural and reservation areas

All it took in spring 2024 was two small, unrelated medical service interruptions to put women’s health at risk and expose the fragility of the health care system in rural and reservation communities across South Dakota.
