The Wessington Springs Board of Education recognized the January 2026 recipients of the school board’s Student Recognition Award at its regular meeting earlier this month. The award honors students who make positive contributions to the district across a range of benchmarks, including academics and character. Students recognized at the meeting, from left, are Ryklynn Reiner, Kaysen Sealy, Gavin Brandenburg and Bailey Mentele. Also recognized but not in attendance were Maxon Finn, Aurora Olson and Mika Hengtgen. Principals from the elementary and middle/high school work with the school board on student selection and a group of students are recognized each month at board of education meetings.
