Foothills News: “Cuppy’s Corner”

On Monday, February 16, 2026, after breakfast Grandma Dar did some exercises on the machines. She then had a whirlpool bath. She ate a hamburger, tater tots, and green beans for lunch and had some chocolate cake for dessert. She played BINGO in the afternoon and only won once! Then Becky wheeled her down to eat supper, where she sat with Vera, Eldora, and Joan and they ate soup and sandwich.

On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, grandma enjoyed cocoa wheats and bacon for breakfast. Eileen Kraft Thomas stopped in to visit her. For lunch grandma enjoyed scalloped potatoes and ham. She played BINGO in the afternoon and won three times. Becky watched a little of the girls’ game against KWL before taking her to enjoy a goulash supper. Grandma Dar used to make us grandkids a big batch of goulash at her house. The girls’ varsity team beat KWL 50-18.

On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, grandma enjoyed scrambled eggs and toast with a glass of chocolate milk for breakfast. Sandy Wolfcale set her hair. Grandma won at BINGO six times today! She is grateful for the daily activities they can participate in. She enjoyed a delicious roast beef dinner with potatoes and gravy and cherry dessert. Becky stopped in after her bus route and helped hang up some hearts that grandma received in the mail from Connie, Amy, Stella, Kierra, and Emma.

On Thursday, February 19, 2026, grandma ate oatmeal with raisins for breakfast. She had a whirlpool bath. Grandma went to fun and fitness. For dinner she enjoyed turkey, potatoes with gravy, and peas. She has been enjoying the Winter Olympics and her video chats with Cindy nightly. Becky stopped in and got her notepad ready to take score for the DH at JVC tomorrow night.

On Friday, February 20, 2026, grandma ate waffles, sausage, scrambled egg for breakfast. She ate shrimp with rice and veggies for lunch and enjoyed a cream pie for dessert. Grandma played BINGO and won five times! She was able to watch the basketball games on television, but they didn’t show the quarter scores on the tv and didn’t have an announcer. She was glad both the varsity teams beat JVC. The score of the girls’ game ended up 54-27 and the Spartan boys won 76-60.

On Saturday, February 21, 2026, grandma ate cream of wheat and toast, with sliced banana and chocolate milk for breakfast. She watched some Olympics in the afternoon. For lunch, she ate BBQ ribs, baked beans and potato salad. Great-grandson Mason Fruechte wrestled in his sectional in Minnesota, and he won! He advances to the state meet next weekend. Candi, Deion, Athena, and True stopped in the afternoon to visit. Becky stopped in later and brought her mail. She received a card from Nicole and Dave.

On Sunday, Feb 22 grandma enjoyed a good breakfast of oatmeal with raisins, frosted roll. Grandma attended the church service at 3pm, that was led by OSLC. Joyce Krueger gave the message, and Lois Feistner played the piano. They all enjoyed ice cream with a Rice Krispie treat after church. Supper was potato soup and ground meat sandwich. We watched the closing ceremony for the Olympics. Grandma will miss watching them as she enjoyed them all, especially the ice skating.
