Monday, March 16, 2026, grandma had a whirlpool bath and then enjoyed cream of wheat, a delicious blueberry muffin, and a dish of fruit. She enjoyed another delicious meal at lunch which was tender roast beef, potatoes and gravy and chocolate milk. Grandma Dar enjoyed playing Bingo and won three times. For supper, she had chili, lettuce salad, fruit cocktail, and chocolate milk.
On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, she had oatmeal and raisins for breakfast. For lunch she enjoyed a pork sandwich, peas, and green ice cream for St. Patrick’s Day. She enjoyed a great Irish program in the afternoon. For supper, she ate broccoli cheese soup, half a sandwich, applesauce, and chocolate milk. Cindy and Becky both called to let her know that the World Baseball Classic Championship was on TV. USA tried to make a comeback, but Venezuela held on to the 3-2 victory.
On Wednesday, March 18, 2026, grandma enjoyed scrambled eggs, toast, and Cocoa Wheats for breakfast. Grandma wasn’t feeling the best all day. She ate chicken noodle hotdish in her room. Grandmahadsome bad coughing spells that caused her stomach to be upset. Becky stopped after track practice and assisted Grandma down to the dining room for supper. After supper Brock and Becky came back and brought the brackets for the high school boys’ basketball tournaments that will start on Thursday. After Brock gave Grandma Dar a hug, she thought she was strong enough to arm wrestle him. She was just teasing.
On Thursday, March 19, 2026, Grandma was up early to have a whirlpool bath and then went to have breakfast, which was cream of wheat, toast, and fruit. Sandy was at work today, and she came to get Grandma. Sandy does a wonderful job and Grandma looks great. She also got her fingernails repainted. She enjoyed lunch which was Swiss steak and potatoes and gravy and apple crisp for dessert. Becky assisted her to the dining room for supper, where she enjoyed tatertot casserole with green beans. She really enjoyed a Pepsi on ice while watching the basketball game on TV.
On Friday, March 20, 2026, Grandma had a pancake, sausage, and chocolate milk for breakfast. Cindy came in the afternoon to start cleaning out some things from Grandma’s apartment. Grandma was very thankful for opportunity and friendship while she was in her apartment. Grandma is very content here in her room and thankful for all the nursing staff that are here to help her daily. Connie arrived from Minnesota. Connie and Candi ate supper with Grandma while Cindy, Becky, and Carol continued to sort through things at the apartment.
On Saturday, March 21, 2026, Cathy came to join the sorting and cleaning. It was a very hot day for March. Granddaughter Crissa Rose and two of her children, June and Wells, came to visit and make Great-Grandma Dar smile. Deion stopped later with Athena and True. It was a very fun and busy day with family in and out.
On Sunday, March 22, 2026, Carol took off before lunch, Connie left for Minnesota after eating lunch with Grandma Dar. They enjoyed the pork roast, mashed potatoes and gravy and blueberry pie. Grandma attended the church service at 3 p.m. Pastor Spiehs came in and gave a great message. No one was there to play piano, so no music today. Becky stopped in to help type the news after supper, which was tomato soup and grilled cheese. Nice meal on such a cool day. My how the weather changes here in SD.
