Foothills News: “Cuppy’s Corner”

Monday, March 30, 2026, Grandma had a good breakfast of cocoa wheats with raisins and a blueberry muffin. Cindy stopped in as she was helping Grandma get things finished up in the apartment. She ordered a new video chat frame for me, as well. Technology is sure nice to have when it works and a bummer when it doesn’t. Becky Krueger came after supper and we played Kings Corner out in the family room.

Tuesday, March 31, 2026, breakfast was cocoa wheats, banana, and frosted donut. Cathy called at 10:30 that she was coming to town to get a dresser from my apartment. Supper was goulash, veggies, and peach sauce with chocolate milk.

On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, after breakfast granddaughter Nicole Cuppy and her husband, Dave stopped in to see Grandma in their travels. She brought Grandma a delicious Danish pastry. It was No Foolin’ that Grandma won four times at BINGO! Sure, makes her smile. Grandma enjoyed ice cream and cookies afterwards.

Thursday, April 2, 2026, Grandma enjoyed cocoa wheats and dinner was pork chop and peas. In the afternoon, grandma played Easter BINGO and won some candy treats. Becky stopped in and took Grandma down for supper.

Friday, April 3, 2026, Grandma had breakfast of waffles, sausage, and scrambled eggs. She then had a whirlpool bath. Twins beat Tampa Bay. Dinner was fish nuggets and tater tots. Supper was cheese ravioli, carrots, and dish of grapes. The Easter Bunny stopped out and delivered a wonderful basket to Grandma and the residents. Thanks to Sam Miller with her Scentsy for the scented flower and candy treats in the pretty pink basket.

Saturday, April 4, 2026, happy birthday wishes to my grandson, Brian Bell. Breakfast was cream of wheat, scrambled eggs, fruit, and chocolate milk. It was a cold, snowy morning. Grandma’s twin sister, Marleen Caffee, called in the afternoon. She still lives in Rapid City. The sun peaked a little bit in the afternoon.

Sunday, April 5, 2026, Happy Easter to all. Becky stopped out with a Pepsi and some mints before she went to Huron to eat with Cheryl and Craig. Grandma enjoyed the Easter lunch of ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, green bean casserole, deviled eggs, and apple pie. Cindy and Fred Zenk of Webster came to visit Grandma Dar. Cindy attended church with Grandma at 3pm. Mike, Becky, Rydell, and Brock Krueger stopped in to see Grandma Dar when they got back to Springs. Connie Theurer called and then we did a FaceTime with Grandma Dar. Brian, Julie, Carlie, and Berklie Bell of Mitchell stopped in after supper. They brought Grandma Dar a cherry cheesecake from Cheryl and Craig’s. It was a delicious treat, as Grandma always had something with strawberries in it at Easter. Grandma Dar enjoyed the FaceTime call with Cheryl to thank her for the cheesecake while Brian’s family and Becky were still here to visit with her. Grandma Dar and Berklie compared their pretty, painted fingernails.

Happy Easter, may the spirit of Easter bring you and your family a festivity full of joy and happiness.

“Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! “But the angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.” – Matthew 28:5-6
