REGION CHAMPS
The Wessington Springs Spartans boys golf team captured first place at the Region Golf Tournament held Tuesday in Brookings, earning a trip to the South Dakota State Golf Tournament June 1-2 in Brookings. Team members include JD Thompson, Luke Larson, Tucker Thompson and Heyns Bothma, pictured with Coach Regina. JD Thompson claimed individual region champion honors with a first-place finish, while Luke Larson placed fourth and Tucker Thompson finished 20th. On the girls side, Kaitlyn Braun also qualified for state after placing 13th at regions. A full interview with Coach Regina and additional tournament coverage will appear in next week’s True Dakotan.
