Foothills News: “Cuppy’s Corner”

CUPPY’S CORNER DICTATED BY DARLEEN CUPPY AND TYPED BY BECKY BELL-KRUEGER

On Monday, May 18, 2026, Grandma had oatmeal with raisins, half a muffin, and chocolate milk. For lunch she ate roast beef, potatoes and gravy, carrots, and another glass of chocolate milk. There was BINGO in the afternoon. Supper was goulash, which Grandma used to make many meals of for us grandkids when we would all get together.

On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, grandma ate a donut, scrambled egg, and chocolate milk for breakfast. Dr. Lim stopped in and saw Grandma. Grandma stays positive. Grandma ate a good dinner of chicken, peas, potatoes and gravy. In the afternoon, they had a balloon swat activity.

On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, Grandma got her hair trimmed and set. They read the True Dakotan in the morning before lunch. In the afternoon, grandma got her fingernails trimmed and then played BINGO.

On Thursday, May 21, 2026, there was Bible Study in the morning and then some exercise. After lunch, they played yard Yahtzee.

On Friday, May 22, 2026, grandma played BINGO in the afternoon.

Saturday, May 23, 2026, Fred and Cindy Zenk of Webster stopped in. They took grandma outside and they played some cards. It was great to get out in the fresh air after all the rain on Friday. Fred and Cindy were on their way to Mitchell, for Great-granddaughter, Carlie Bell’s high school graduation party. Fred and Cindy were also joined by Nancy Cuppy of Harrold, Hilary VanAspern of Sioux Falls, Craig and Cheryl VanAsperen of Huron, Mike, Becky, and Brock Krueger of Wessington Springs, Deion Sails of Madison, and Ella White of Sioux Falls also attended the graduation party at the home of Brian, Julie, Carlie, and Berkie Bell in Mitchell. Great granddaughter Abby Cuppy also had a graduation party in Rapid City.

On Sunday, May 24, 2026, Mike, Becky, and Brock attended the graduation ceremony for Carlie Bell in the Corn Palace. Also attending were Brian, Julie, and Berklie Bell, Cheryl VanAsperen, and Connie Ness. Afterwards, they went back to Brian and Julie’s house for a visit. The Immanuel Baptist Church led the service, and grandma enjoyed the music they played. Grandma had soft serve ice cream after the church service this afternoon. Becky stopped in after supper to help type the news for Cuppy’s Corner. Candi called on the Video Frame after work and visited with them both.
