On Monday, July 6, Grandma enjoyed beef stroganoff, cooked carrots, and fresh fruit for lunch. Dominos were played in the morning as well as Fun and Fitness with Sandy. Grandma’s favorite, Bingo, was played in the afternoon.
On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, Grandma enjoyed fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, and carrot cake.
On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, Grandma enjoyed sausage gravy over biscuit with scrambled egg, and a cup of fresh fruit for breakfast. Cheryl came to town for golf and stopped early to have lunch with Grandma. They had spaghetti with meat sauce for lunch and cake. She won Bingo five times later that afternoon. Before supper, Becky Krueger came and took Grandma Dar outside on the back patio. We enjoyed the shade, checked all the vegetables in the bunk, and took the True Dakotan out with us to read through. Becky took her down for supper, where grandma had ham salad sandwich and vegetable beef soup. The Twins game was on FOX, so she was able to watch them, otherwise the Twins channel isn’t in the television lineup.
On Thursday, July 9, 2026, breakfast was oatmeal and raisins. Lunch was beef Philly, potato salad, peas, and cake. Supper was a chicken sandwich, seasoned potatoes, and a cup of mandarin oranges. The Owls traveled down to Colome to take on the Chaos and lost by ten runs in 7 innings.
On Friday, July 10, 2026, breakfast was a fried egg, sausage link, and French toast. Lunch was a hotdog, pasta salad, baked beans, and cup of fresh fruit. Supper was a deli sandwich, tossed salad, and ham & bean soup. Brian, Julie, Carlie, and Berklie Bell traveled to Minnesota to the Twins game, as Berklie Bell was a member of the Mitchell Children’s Choir that sang the National Anthem for Friday night’s game. Unfortunately, the Twins lost to the Angels, 4-3.
On Saturday, July 11, 2026, breakfast was malt o’meal with toast. Lunch was hot roast beef sandwich, mashed potatoes and gravy, peas & carrots, and poke cake. Grandma enjoyed songs played by Corey Roberts, who also works in the dining room. Supper was chili and a cinnamon roll. Becky walked out for a visit after supper. Ruth Jensen and Shirley Bender were outside their apartments and sent their greetings to Grandma Dar. The Twins won 5-3 in the second game of the series with the Angels.
On Sunday, July 12, 2026, Becky stopped out and we went outside on the patio to enjoy the fresh air and breeze before the heat really set in. It was nice in the shade. Grandma enjoyed an icecold Pepsi. Back inside, we were able to get a few hands of Kings in the Corner in before lunch. Grandma had the lucky hands. For lunch she ate turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, squash, and pie! Becky announced the double header the Owls had with Chamberlain, which started at 2pm. The Owls won both games. Church service at 3pm was with the friends from the Methodist Church. Supper was tuna casserole.
