From pigs to peacocks, FFA petting zoo delights elementary students
Wessington Springs Elementary students enjoyed some hands-on fun during the first annual FFA Petting Zoo. Pictured, Mariza Ochoa feeds Star, Ella Kolousek’s quarter horse; Leelin Polly delights in petting a baby goat held by FFA officer Brooklyn Caffee; Lilly Roesler’s miniature Australian shepherd proves a popular attraction; and a male and female peacock are among the many animals brought by Bailey Roduner.
There were goats to cuddle, alpacas to admire, a miniature pony to pet and even a turkey that some youngsters mistook for an oversized chicken.
The first annual Wessington Springs FFA Petting Zoo brought an assortment of feathered, furry and four-legged visitors to town, much to the delight of Wessington Springs Elementary students who visited in class groups throughout the day.
