A storm that continued throughout Tuesday and brought hazardous driving conditions prompted the Wessington Springs School District to close on March 4, 2025.
The Region 2B boys basketball games originally scheduled to be played in Wessington Springs Tuesday night were also postponed.
The post-season games will now be played on Friday, March 7 in Wessington Springs. During the first game of the evening, Wessington Springs will face off against James Valley Christian at 6 p.m. followed by Wolsey-Wessington vs. Deubrook at 7:30 p.m. The games scheduled for Friday at DSU in Madison will be played on Saturday, March 8, with times to be determined.
As of March 4, Wessington Springs came in at number 4 in the Class B South Dakota Prep Media basketball polls. The polls rank the top five teams in each class. First-place votes are indicated in parentheses and teams are ranked by total points received.
