From artwork to horticulture, 4-H projects to photography, local talent was on display on the South Dakota stage last week as youth and adults from the area enjoyed recognition for their SD State Fair entries.
CLOCKWISE FROM TOP: Hayes Christensen is shown in the ring at the fairgrounds with his Charolais heifer, “Bridget.” Talented photographers abound in the area and were recognized with first premium blue ribbons in the adult photography exhibit. One of Darrell Deneke’s entries is shown in the foreground. Laura Baker of Baker’s Design was one of the floral artists chosen to design the coveted mirror room in the horticulture building. Local elementary students Taryn Bartel, Chaz Larsen and Wyatt Fagerhaug were among the top essay contest winners at the fair.
