To support the local chapter of Ducks Unlimited, be sure to attend the annual banquet Saturday, October 22
Habitat improvement is a primary focus for the local chapter of Ducks Unlimited, with fundraising efforts helping restore over 772,000 acres in the state.
To support the local chapter of Ducks Unlimited, be sure to attend the annual banquet, scheduled for Saturday, October 22 at the American Legion in Wessington Springs. A social begins at 6 p.m. with supper at 7 p.m. and auction at 8 p.m. In addition to multiple guns and collectibles to be won through games, silent and live auction, original paintings from local artist Kenzee Schafer and Madison-based artist John Green will be up for grabs.
Since 1983, Ducks Unlimited has spent $102 million on habitat in the state, with an average of every $1 raised locally matched $6 by the national organization. All of those funds return to South Dakota for habitat improvement.
Jerauld County enjoys 1,648 public hunting habitat acres due to 12 Ducks Unlimited projects in the area.
