City at the Foothills

Darleen Cuppy wrote her Cuppy’s Corner news Monday morning. Delia Atkinson came to get it later in the forenoon. Darleen Cuppy’s lift chair control wasn’t working so Becky and Mike Krueger came and got it figured out. Darleen is very grateful!

Tuesday was a blustery day. Darleen’s daughter Candi Sails got some thing Darleen needed and visited for a while.

Wednesday Kathy Larson was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She served tasty mini muffins. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Darleen Higgins, Lorraine Schultz, Vera Salter, Eldora Hasz, Luella Teveldal, Joyce Mees and Darleen Cuppy. We didn’t get our True Dakotan with our mail.

A small group attended Bingo at 2 p.m. Enjoying the afternoon were Lyle Pawlowski, calling the numbers, Lenora Pawlowski, Joyce Mees, Shirley Bender, Lynette Marken, Darleen Higgins, Luella Teveldal and Darleen Cuppy. Shirley Bender served coffee and cookies.

Darleen saw on Facebook Thursday that Kristi Hine and Adam Kaus had the True Dakotan and Mitchell Daily Republic papers loaded into Kristi’s car. Darleen assumed Kristi drove to Mitchell to get the papers. Darleen felt very special when Delia Atkinson delivered a True Dakotan Thursday afternoon! Thursday evening Darleen enjoyed watching the Spartan girls and boys play at Sunshine Bible Academy. We won all four basketball games.

Friday Darleen enjoyed the pork loin dinner from the Senior Center. It was delivered by Joanne Grohs. Friday evening Ethan played basketball in Wessington Springs with the Spartans. (Darleen can’t find the paper that she kept score – but JV won both their games and Varsity lost both of theirs, it wasn’t a good night for the Spartans.)

Saturday Marlys Shryock stopped in to visit Darleen awhile. Then Darleen walked the halls with her. It’s nice to see how everyone decorates their doors for the season.

Sunday Darleen watched the pre-recorded Christian Worship Hour with Pastor Harold Salem and the Sioux Falls Lutheran Church Service on TV. Thanks to Elaine Roetman for leaving a bulletin from the Methodist Church.

Darleen enjoyed the turkey dinner and cherry pie from the Manor kitchen.

Sunday afternoon Darleen Cuppy enjoyed watching the SDSU play NDSU game. SD Jacks won 45-21. Darleen also watched the Vikings win over the Chicago Bears.

“If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours.”
