I wrote my Cuppy’s Corner News Monday morning. Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon. I enjoyed the ribs and hash browns from the Senior Center delivered by Jim Deines. In the evening, I watched the Minnesota Twins play the New York Mets. New York won 5-1.
Tuesday, I enjoyed the shredded pork sandwich and cheesecake from the Manor kitchen. Tuesday evening, I watched the Minnesota Twins play the New York Mets. The Twins won 6-3!
Wednesday, Joyce Mees was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She had Easter bunny plates and napkins. Joyce served a slice of cinnamon sweet bread and had a package with pretzels and cheese in it. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Lorraine Schultz, Judy Baumgart, Darleen Cuppy, Luella Teveldal, Kathy Larson and Kathy Brandenburg. Pastor Nancy Rieke came later and served Communion.
Thursday, I rode the bus to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop and got a perm in the forenoon. I enjoyed the drummies, fries and cucumber dinner from the Senior Center. The Minnesota Twins didn’t have a game.
Friday my daughter Candi Sails got my tote and put my Easter decorations out. An Easter bouquet and a wrist corsage was delivered from the flower shop – a gift from my daughter Cindy Zenk of Webster.
Saturday, I had the hot dog and macaroni and cheese dinner from the Manor kitchen. Saturday evening, I watched the Minnesota Twins play the Atlanta Braves. The Atlanta Braves won 4-3.
Easter Sunday, I rode the bus with Delia Atkinson to the Methodist Church. I met my daughter Cathy White, Ella and Nora of Sioux Falls and grandson Deion Sails, Athena Skye and True James. Lisa Edwards and the Praise Band played a beautiful prelude “The Cross.” Pastor Cheri Van Gorp welcomed everyone and said a prayer. The quartet of Chris Schimke, Darrel Winter, Kirk Luymes and Lila Hoffman sang “Easter Hallelujah.” The choir, Jan Krohmer, Gretchen Burnison, Lila Hoffman, Lynda Luymes, Julie Kraft and Laura Kieser sang “Great is the Lord.” We all sang the hymn “Up From the Grave He Arose.” Before each song Pastor Cheri read bible verses. We sang “Crown Him with Many Crowns” while the offertory was taken. Benediction was Ephesians 3:20-21. We closed with the hymn “Christ the Lord is Risen Today.”
After church I rode the bus back to my apartment and my family and I went to Cone Zone for lunch. I enjoyed the Philly beef sandwich, coleslaw and Pepsi. Baleigh took my order and Leon was the cook.
