Wessington Springs FFA Chapter Celebrates National FFA Week with Activities This Week and Next

FFA Chapter members at Wessington Springs High School (WSHS) have been busy planning events to celebrate this special week and the impact it has on members every day.

Tuesday, members dovetailed their efforts with the “Beef to School” program launch by educating elementary school students about beef during meat presentations in every classroom (see photo in adjacent story, above left). That same afternoon, guest speakers from Agtegra visited students to talk about careers in agriculture.

A “Breakfast in the Shop” pancake feed was originally scheduled for Wednesday, February 22 but due to inclement weather, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, February 28 from 7 a.m. - 8: 30- a.m. Students, staff and the community as a whole are invited to attend.

With impending weather as of press deadline, the next event scheduled for this week is Ag Olympics on Friday.

Coverage of the events along with a fascinating, historic timeline of the Wessington Springs FFA Chapter will be published in next week’s True Dakotan.
