Student-led event raises $9600 for Midwest Honor Flight

    Last week Carissa Scheel presented a check in the amount of $9600 to Elsie Van Beek for the Midwest Honor Flight. The funds raised by Scheel will send over 11 veterans on the flight.

    As a part of her FCCLA project this year, WSHS Junior, Carissa Scheel exceeded her goal for the Elsie Mission Midwest Honor Flight, raising $9600 for the effort.

    “I didn’t have an exact goal and never thought I would raise that much,” said Scheel. “To be able to send over 11 veterans on the Midwest Honor Flight with this donation is incredible.”
