Spring Clean Up Day Scheduled in Wessington Springs

As warmer weather draws residents outdoors, spring clean up to-do lists grow lengthy in a hurry.

The City of Wessington Springs is planning its Spring Clean Up Day May 12. City employees will pick up tree branches, white goods (appliances), furniture, and carpet.

The municipality requests that all items be sorted separately and placed horizontally in the street by the curb before 7 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2024 for pick up.

Household trash, cardboard, plastic, styrofoam, foam rubber, other packaging materials, containers of paint, sealants, adhesive and similar wastes are not allowed at the restricted use site and can be disposed of with your regular garbage service. If any of these unauthorized wastes are with curbside items for pickup, the city will not pick up items at the residence.

Entire cut down trees, tires or batteries are also not permitted during this clean-up.

The city of Wessington Springs will not be responsible for any damage to lawns and will be using the loader and skid steer for pickup.
