Whether they are responding to hay fires, extinguishing a blazing building, rescuing a trapped occupant from a compromised vehicle or raising funds for all of the fire department’s efforts and equipment, current and former fire fighters in the Wessington Springs area continue to carry on a valued tradition of service and protection put in place 125 years ago in 1889.
