Judson Dwyer was born in Wessington Springs, South Dakota on July 21,1949 to Burl Ellsworth Dwyer and Goldie Evelyn Burke. He was the youngest of his three living siblings, Marlene Lunsman of Roseville, MN, Jim Dwyer of Walla Walla, WA and Gene Dwyer of Aurora, CO.
He died October 11, 2022 in an early morning single vehicle accident in Juab County, Utah. His ashes were spread in Valverndale at the site of Elmer, the first post office in Wessington Springs on May 28, 2023.
He had a Norman Rockwell childhood growing up in Wessington Springs and remained connected with his childhood friends and family through the duration of his life.
Judson was drafted into the Army in 1969 and served in the 1st Calvary Division as an infantry solider from 19691970. Judson once told a friend that every day he lived after the war was a bonus. After the war he met Karen Elaine Wulf and they married in 1975 and had twin daughters, Nicole Dwyer (Uniontown, WA) and Regan Dwyer (Idaho Springs, CO). He is survived by all three.
He moved with his family to Denver, CO in 1982. Following in his dad’s footsteps he worked in road construction and maintenance until he fully retired in 2008.
He loved motorcycles and old cars, and spent every summer traveling to the annual Sturgis Rally from 1979-2015. He had an old 1958 Harley Sportster with a yellow tank and red flame, which is iconic to his memory.
He was loved dearly by many people and will be missed greatly.
