Foothills News: “Cuppy’s Corner”

I wrote my Cuppy’s Corner News Monday morning. Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon. I enjoyed the hamburger dinner and blueberry dessert from the Manor kitchen. At 5 p.m. I watched the Minnesota Twins play the Cleveland Guardians. The Twins won. Later at 7 p.m. I enjoyed the grade school Spring Concert on the school channel #382. Mrs. Julie Fastnacht does a great job – the concert was delightful!!

Tuesday, I enjoyed the meatloaf dinner and cake from the Manor kitchen. At 5 p.m. I watched the Minnesota Twins play the Cleveland Guardians again. Cleveland won 2-1.

Wednesday April 30 Lorraine Schultz was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She served delicious coffeecake. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Darleen Cuppy, Joyce Mees and her daughter Jeanette Jones, Judy Baumgart, Kathy Brandenburg and Luella Teveldal. My grandson Deion Sails surprised me Wednesday afternoon. He brought me a delicious sundae from the Cone Zone and did several errands for me. At 5 p.m. I watched the Minnesota Twins play the Cleveland Guardians. Cleveland won 4-2.

Thursday was May 1 – I used to give little May Baskets with candy treats. I rode the bus to Angie Mentzer’s for a shampoo and set. I enjoyed the pizza, lettuce salad and Mandarin oranges from the Manor kitchen. The Minnesota Twins played the Cleveland Guardians and Cleveland won 4-3.

Friday, I enjoyed the shrimp dinner from the Manor kitchen. It was a very nice day, so I went out for a walk. My daughter Candi Sails got some things I needed. At 6 p.m. I watched the Minnesota Twins play the Boston Red Sox. Boston won 6-1.

Saturday, I enjoyed the ribs, baked beans, coleslaw and cornbread from the Manor kitchen. (It’s one of my favorites.) At 3 p.m. I watched the Minnesota Twins play the Boston Red Sox. The Twins won 4-3.

Sunday, I rode the bus with Joanne Grohs to the Methodist Church and met Candi and Baleigh Sails there. Lisa Edwards played a beautiful Prelude. Pastor Cheri welcomed everyone and said a prayer. We sang “I Stand Amazed in the Presence.” We honored the graduates – 8th grade: JR Hine, Sutten Jensen and Baleigh Sails, high school: Mariah Messmer, Ridge Roduner and Branden Flowers, college: Austin Schimke. Several joys and concerns were shared. We all said The Lord’s Prayer. Pastor Cheri’s sermon was “A Cosmic Chorus of Praise” Scripture was Psalms 145. Communion was served by Pastor Cheri and Randy Burnison. Jill Sheldon sang “The Blessing.” We closed with “Goodness of God” sung by Jill Sheldon, Chris Schimke and Lisa Edwards.

I enjoyed the roast beef dinner and custard pie from the Manor kitchen.
