CITY-WIDE CELEBRATION IS AUGUST 4-5
The “City at the Foothills” is continuing its city-wide celebration of food, fun and shopping with exciting events during the fourth annual “Foothills Days” on August 4 and 5, all held in Wessington Springs.
Friday, August 4
On Friday, the Mayor’s Classic Golf Tournament will kick off the festivities at the Springs Country Club. Later that evening, bring blankets and chairs to the City Park for Movies in the Park. Movies will start at dusk.
Saturday, August 5
On Saturday, start your day right with a little exercise! Registration for the Annual Weskota Foundation Walk/Run starts bright and early at 7 a.m. at the Wessington Springs Fire Hall. The 5k run is followed by a kids fun run and a community walk. More information can be found in the ad in this print and e-edition on

Since you’ll already be up and going, citywide rummage sales begin right at 8 a.m. There is still time to get rummage sales on the map by calling Mette Ness at 605-539-1712.
Get in touch with your creative side and participate in the second annual “Rummage Sale Rescue,” an event inspired by HGTV’s “Flea Market Flip.” Registration is at the field house from 7 - 10 a.m. and all the details can be found in the ad in this issue on PAGE TEN Bring the kids up to the tennis courts located in the campground at 11 a.m. for the kids pedal pull/tractor pull. Be sure to return to the courts for the corn hole tournament. Registration begins at 2 p.m. with play commencing at 3 p.m.
Rolling into the evening, be sure you have a lawn chair handy for Rockin’ RibFest. The event begins at 4 p.m. and will rock the park through 11 p.m. Admission is free. Grab a bite to eat from the food vendors or BBQ rib competitors and listen to live music by Surfin’ Safari and Dustin Evans & The Good Times Band.
