City at the Foothills

On Sunday, September 3, 2023, Marilyn Jo Robbins came to visit me in the afternoon. Cindy Zenk called me in the evening. I got pie with one of my meals. On Monday, September 4, I am taking longer walks through the halls. One of my meals was a delicious roast beef dinner. The MN Twins won. Candi and Baleigh Sails came to visit in the evening. On Tuesday, September 5, I had a care conference meeting with four nurses, Jen Jensen from Physical Therapy and my daughter Candi and Cindy, via the telephone. The MN Twins won. My sister, Marleen Caffee, called and we had a nice visit.

On Wednesday, September 6, I continue to take longer walks and more of them through the halls. The Twins played Cleveland. OSLC’s Pastor Nancy came to visit me this afternoon. I had phone calls this evening from my kids, Darryl, Cindy, and Candi.

On Thursday, September 7, I was SO grateful for Angie Mentzer, as she was able to come and give me a perm over at the salon in the Manor. Granddaughter Becky stopped in the early evening, and we had a good visit and then she did some errands for me. On Friday, I had an appointment with OT over in my apartment. Daughter Cindy came for the appointment. I was able to walk over there and back. Marlys Shryock came over to visit me in the afternoon when I got back to my room in Swing bed. Candi came to watch the Blackhawks football game with me on tv. Again, I am so appreciative of those who sponsor that to be broadcasted on the school television channel.

On Saturday, September 9, I had phone calls from daughters Cindy and Candi. Brian and Julie stopped in and visited awhile. They were in Springs and attended the sale of Tim and Cathy Holzwarth. They were also two of the many family members who attended Brock’s football in Salem on Friday night. Also attending were Don and Susie Cuppy of Mitchell; Craig and Cheryl VanAsperen of Wessington; Ryan and Alisha, Briggs, and Ford Bell of Harrisburg; Cathy, Ella, and Nora White of Sioux Falls; Hilary Rossow of Volga, Joyce Krueger of WS; Cullen, Mary, and Emerson of Mitchell.

On Sunday, September 10, I was able to watch the MN Vikings, too bad they lost 20-17 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Cheryl called me in the afternoon to see if I was watching the Twins or the Vikings. Brock and Becky stopped in to see me and brought me a Pepsi. We watched the Denver Broncos for a bit. Becky brought my mail and typed this news.
