Local volunteers teach the next generation to HuntSAFE

Twenty three students from Wessington Springs, Alpena, Gann Valley, Woonsocket, Wessington, Wolsey, Huron, and Miller completed the 2023 HuntSAFE program. The students completed two evening sessions of classroom studies and on Saturday September 16, they live fired at the trap range.

The students participating in the course were Ezra Anson, Kaitlyn Braun, Jammeson Charron, Chase Dunsmore, Jackson Eggelston, Jayden Eggelston, Madilyn Gaikowski, Christian Haigh, Jeremiah Haigh, Hastin Heezen, Makynna Heim, Aunnika Heumiller, Roslyn Klein, Chaz Larson, Kohen Mebius, Masynn Mebius, Micah Orth, Mitchell Orth, Kaleb Rashaad, Billy Roduner, Lilly Roesler, Kaycee Sheel and Paxton Walz. Instructors were Duane Peterson (Woonsocket), Wayne Grohs, Dayle Winter, Bernie Maxwell, and Lynn Geuke (GF& P Conservation Officer). Instructors not pictured are Dawn Lake, Paul Sheldon, Jason Weber and Steve Winter. The Jerauld County Trap Club is again selling chances on a shotgun and cooler. These donations help the club support the youth shooting program.
