“Cuppys Corner”

Darleen Cuppy wrote her news Monday morning; Delia Atkinson came to get it later in the forenoon. Darleen had physical therapy at 11 a.m. Darleen enjoyed the hamburger, onion rings, green beans and chocolate pudding from the Manor kitchen. Darleen enjoyed phone calls from her son Darryl of Harrold and daughter Cindy of Webster.

Tuesday Darleen enjoyed the BBQ chicken, vegetable salad and pudding from the Senior Center. It was delivered by Joanne Grohs.

Wednesday Darleen served at the 9 a.m. coffee. She had orange plates and yellow napkins for glazed donuts and mini blueberry muffins. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Judy Baumgart, Darleen Higgins, Lorraine Schultz, Vera Salter, Eldora Hasz, Kathy Larson, Luella Teveldal, Pastor Nancy Reinke and Joyce Mees. Thanks to Kathy Larson for making and serving the coffee.

Darleen enjoyed the roast beef dinner and cherry dessert from the Manor kitchen. At 2 p.m. bingo was played in the dining room. Shirley Bender and Luella Teveldal called numbers. Others enjoying the afternoon were Joyce Mees, Darleen Higgins, Lynette Marken, Judy Baumgart, Marily Robbins and Darleen Cuppy. Joyce Mees furnished cookies for coffee time.

Thursday Darleen rode the bus to Angie Mentzer’s to get her hair fixed. Rhonda LePage drove the bus. Darleen enjoyed the pork chop dinner from the Manor kitchen. It rained very hard in the late afternoon. Some received five to six inches of rain!

Friday Darleen ordered groceries in the forenoon from Springs Food Market. Ryan delivered them in the afternoon. Darleen appreciates the service.

Darleen enjoyed the ham, sweet potato and cherry crunch dessert dinner from the Senior Center which was delivered by Joanne Grohs.

Friday evening Darleen watched the Blackhawks play football against Rapid City Christian on the school channel. It was very wet, cold and windy! Rapid City Christian won 7-0.

Saturday October 14th Darleen called her daughter Candi Sails to wish her a happy birthday. She was in Memphis, TN. Saturday afternoon Darleen watched the SDSU Jacks play University Northern Iowa. The Jacks won 41-6.

Sunday Darleen Cuppy rode the bus to the Methodist Church, also riding were Rochelle Witte and Joyce Rogers. Jim Deines drove the bus. Lisa Edwards played a beautiful Prelude. Kristi Hine led the Call to Worship. We sang “What a Friend we Have in Jesus.” Several announcements were made; sign up to bring treats for coffee, choir practice before church, adult bible study with Gerald Kraft. A beautiful Anthem was sung by the choir members Laura Kieser, Sandy Wenzel, Diane Winter, Jan Krohmer, Julie Kraft, Lynda Luymes, Darrel Winter, Kirk Luymes and Chris Schimke. The Responsive Reading was Psalm 46 led by Kristi Hine. The Offering was taken by Jeff Kieser and Neal Doering and then the Doxology was sung. We sang “Sweet Hour of Prayer.” The youth moment was led by Julie Kraft. Pastor Zach Kingery presented the sermon on the big screen. The pre-recorded sermon was “Always encourage others and everyone is qualified to pray.” We closed with the hymn “Every Time I Feel the Spriit.” Benediction was Ephesians 3:20.

Darleen enjoyed the pork chop dinner and apple pie from the Manor kitchen then watched the Minnesota Vikings play the Chicago Bears. The Vikings won 19-13!
