“Cuppys Corner”

Darleen Cuppy wrote her news Monday morning; Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon. Darleen enjoyed the chicken gravy over biscuits, green beans and chocolate pudding for dinner. She watched the World Series in the evening with the Arizona Diamondbacks playing the Texas Rangers. The Texas Rangers won 3-1.

Tuesday was Halloween. Darleen enjoyed the ham dinner from the Manor kitchen. In the evening we sat in a semi-circle in the dining room with our bowl of treats. Those handing out treats were Vera Salter, Judy Baumgart, Luella Teveldal, Lorraine Schultz, Eldora Hasz, Kathy Larson, Ann Thomas, Donna Satter, Darleen Higgins, Joyce Mees, Doris Deneke, Darleen Cuppy and Neal and Verla Barber. Neal and Verla handed out their candy and some furnished by Cecile Knight since Cecile was not able to attend. It was fun to see the kids in their cute costumes and they were all so excited. Lorraine Schultz treated us to popcorn balls she made.

Wednesday was November 1st. Vera Salter was hostess for our 9 am coffee. She served delicious apple fritters. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Darleen Higgins, Lorraine Schultz, Eldora Hasz, Judy Baumgart, Luella Teveldal, Joyce Mees and son Wayne, Kathy Larson and Darleen Cuppy.

At 2 p.m. cards were played in the south dining room. Enjoying the afternoon were Doris Deneke, Darleen Higgins, Luella Teveldal, Darleen Cuppy, Shirley Bender, Ruth Jensen, Marlys Shryock, Marilyn Robbins and Lynette Marken. Doris Deneke served cupcakes from her daughter Linda.

Thursday Darleen Cuppy rode the bus to Angie Mentzer’s to get a trim and shampoo and set. Darleen enjoyed the pork chop dinner from the Manor kitchen.

Friday Darleen Cuppy enjoyed the ham dinner from the Senior Center. Darleen was grateful her grandson Brock Krueger came Friday evening and got her tablet reset so she could see pictures of the family.

Saturday Darleen enjoyed the BBQ ribs, green beans, cheese potato, cornbread and peach sauce from the Manor kitchen.

Saturday at 2 p.m. Darleen watched the SDSU Jacks play NDSU Bison. The Jacks won 33-16. After the game, the weather was nice, so Darleen went for a walk.

Sunday Darleen watched the Christian Worship Hour with Pastor Harold Salem and the service from the Sioux Falls Lutheran Church on TV. Darleen’s granddaughter Becky Krueger delivered the BBQ, potato salad, pie and ice cream dinner from Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Darleen enjoyed eating with Eldora Hasz and Vera Salter in the dining room. Then Darleen watched the Minnesota Vikings play the Atlanta Falcons. The Vikings won 31-28.

Candi and Baleigh Sails visited Darleen for a while Sunday evening. They and Leon will be living in their house. Brock Krueger stopped in at Grandma Dar’s and set her clocks back. Darleen was able to set her watch back for daylight saving time.
