“Cuppys Corner”

Darleen Cuppy wrote her news Monday morning; Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon.

Darleen enjoyed the roast beef dinner and cake from the Manor kitchen.

TuesdayElaineRoetman visited Darleen Cuppy and brought the bulletin from the Methodist Church.

Darleen’s daughter Candi Sails got some things she needed.

Wednesday Eldora Hasz was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She served delicious cinnamon bread. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Lorraine Schultz, Vera Salter, Judy Baumgart, Luella Teveldal, Joyce Mees and Darleen Cuppy. At 2 p.m. bingo was played. A small group attended. Lynette Marken called the numbers. Enjoying the afternoon were Doris Deneke, Judy Baumgart, Joyce Mees, Luella Teveldal and Darleen Cuppy. Lynette Marken also served popcorn treats. Darleen Cuppy enjoyed watching the Country Music Awards in the evening.

Thursday Darleen Cuppy enjoyed the goulash dinner from the Senior Center. It was delivered by Joanne Grohs. The football playoffs started Thursday. The 9A Warner Monarchs played the Deubrook Dolphins. It was a high scoring game! Warner won 76-54. In the evening the Parkston Trojans played the Howard Tigers. Parkston won 12-7.

Friday more football playoff games were on. At 10 a.m. Elk Point-Jefferson played Hot Springs. Hot Springs won 13-7. At 2 p.m. Dell Rapids played West Central. Cathy White called her mom Darleen Cuppy to let her know Casey Jost’s son Jessie was playing for West Central. He was #33 and he made several good tackles. Dell Rapids won 42-6.

Saturday was Veterans Day. Darleen enjoyed the pictures of the veterans in last week’s True Dakotan of Herman Eilers, Dave Kogel, Bernie Maxwell and Gary Orth and their trip to Washington DC. Darleen is proud of her family that have served! Darleen’s dad, Mike Weeldreyer was in the Army, four brothers, Elmer - Army, Harvey – Marines, Roger – Navy and Bob – Army. Darleen also has two grandsons, Brandon Cuppy – Air Force and Deion Salis – Army. Thank you to all veterans for your service and dedication.

Darleen watched all of the football playoff games. Saturday, November 11 Sioux Falls Lincoln played O’Gorman at 7 p.m. Darleen’s granddaughter Ella Darleen White is a cheerleader for the Lincoln Patriots. Ella is the daughter of Cathy and Scott White of Sioux Falls. She has a sister Nora Joanne. The Lincoln Patriots won 31-7. Darleen saw Ella when they were introduced and after they won. The cheerleaders weren’t shown very often.

Sunday Darleen rode the bus to the Methodist Church with Elaine Roetman, Gladys Kieser, Rochelle Witte and Mary Lou Cameron. Joanne Grohs drove the bus. Lisa Edwards played a beautiful Prelude. Veterans were asked to stand to be honored. Laura Kieser led Responsive Reading. We sang “Christ for the World We Sing.” Choir members Laura Kieser, Sandy Wenzel, Jan Krohmer, Diane and Darrel Winter, Lila Hoffman and Julie Kraft sang a beautiful Anthem. The offering was taken by Neal Doering and Jeff Kieser. We sang the Doxology. Randy Burnison led the Youth Moment. We shared Joys and Concerns, said the Lord’s Prayer and sang “O How I Love Jesus.” Pastor Kingery gave the message on the big screen. His sermon was “Share Your Faith, Eternity hangs in the balance.” We closed with the hymn “I Love to Tell the Story.”

Darleen enjoyed the chicken dinner and apple pie from the Manor kitchen. Then she watched the Minnesota Vikings play the New Orleans Saints. The Vikings won 27-19.
