“Cuppys Corner”

I heard the weather report and decided to write my news Sunday night – as you might need to get my news early.

Monday New Year’s Day the Ness family, Marla, Mette, Dave and Curt hosted a holiday supper in the south dining room. They served oyster stew, chili, sandwiches, cookies and candy. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Marilyn Robbins, Joyce Mees, Marlys Shryock, Neal and Verla Barber, Doris Deneke and son Darrel, Darleen Higgins, Donna Satter, Fred and Cecile Knight, Ann Thomas and family, Lorraine Schultz, Ruth Jensen, Diane Carlson, George Wenzel, Joanne Edwards, Shirley Bender and Darleen Cuppy.

Tuesday Darleen Cuppy got a lot of mail ready to send to family. She enjoyed the spaghetti dinner and chocolate pudding from the Manor kitchen.

Wednesday Vera Salter was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She served a delicious coffeecake to Darleen Higgins, Lorraine Schultz, Kathy Larson, Joyce Mees and Darleen Cuppy. Darleen Cuppy enjoyed the meatloaf dinner from the Manor kitchen. Bingo was played at 2 p.m. Shirley Bender called the numbers. Enjoying the afternoon were Lynette Marken, Judy Baumgart, Joyce Mees, Ruth Jensen, Diane Carlson, Doris Deneke, Darleen Higgins, Marilyn Robbins and Darleen Cuppy. Coffee, cookies and fudge were enjoyed.

Thursday Darleen received two beautiful white roses from her daughter Cindy and Fred Zenk of Webster.

Darleen enjoyed the hamburger deluxe, potato salad, and pudding from the Senior Center delivered by Joanne Grohs.

Friday Darleen had the lemon pepper fish, potato wedges, cauliflower and sherbet from the Manor kitchen. Friday evening Darleen enjoyed watching the basketball games played at Ethan. The Spartans girls JV lost 23-35 to Ethan. Girls Varsity also lost 48-61. The Spartans boys Varsity won 49-38 over Ethan.

Saturday Darleen enjoyed the pork ribs, pasta salad, baked beans and peach sauce from the Manor kitchen.

Darleen’s daughter Candi Sails got some groceries for her Saturday afternoon.

Sunday Darleen Cuppy watched the Christian Worship Hour with Pastor Harold Salem on TV. Also, the service from Sioux Falls Lutheran Church.

Darleen enjoyed the pork dinner and cake from the Manor kitchen.

Sunday afternoon Darleen watched the Vikings and Detroit Lions on Channel 7 and the SDSU Jacks play Montana Grizzlies on Channel 9. She had to switch back and forth. The Vikings lost 20-30 to the Detroit Lions and the SDSU Jacks won 23-3 over Montana.
