Elections dependent on petitions circulated and submitted next month
In recent City of Wessington Springs City Council and Wessington Springs School District Board of Education meetings, members of the respective boards agreed to once again hold their elections together as has been done in the past.
The election date is set for Tuesday April 9, and elections are dependent on petitions circulated and submitted next month.
Vacancies due to expiration of terms on the city side are: Mayor Brian Bergeleen, 1st Ward Ryan Knipfer, 2nd Ward Layton Schimke, 3rd Ward Tim Schooler (one year term) and 3rd Ward Natasha Waters.
On the school board, Jacki Bultsma and Jennifer Jensen’s three year terms will expire.
