Darleen Cuppy wrote her Cuppy’s Corner News Monday morning. Delia Atkinson came to get it later in the day. Tuesday Darleen enjoyed the ham dinner from the Manor kitchen. The Spartans girls and boys played at Kimball/White Lake. The JV girls won 36-10, the JV boys lost by 2 points. Spartans Varsity girls won 58-37. Kimball/White Lake had a great half time show.! The Spartans boys won 54-28. Darleen is very grateful to be able to watch the games on the school channel. Darleen enjoyed the pancakes and sausage from the Zion Lutheran Church for Shrove Tuesday.
Darleen Higgins was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee Wednesday, Valentine’s Day. She served delicious, glazed donuts. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Lorraine Schultz, Vera Salter, Kathy Larson, Joyce Mees, Darleen Cuppy and special guest Luella Teveldal. Her daughter Kari from Pierre brought her from the Manor. It was a blustery day, Kari planned to drive back to Pierre. Bingo was played at 2 p.m. Lyle Pawlowski called the numbers. Enjoying the afternoon were Ruth Jensen, Diane Carlson, Doris Deneke, Darleen Higgins, Marilyn Robbins, Shirley Bender, Joyce Mees and Darleen Cuppy. Coffee and cookies were served by Shirley Bender. Some students from Wessington Springs FCCLA Chapter gave the apartment residents a pretty Valentine made on the computer. Darleen Cuppy received one from Kaelory Dixon, 8th grade Wessington Springs Junior High FCCLA and from Nolan Schaller.
Thursday Darleen rode the bus to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop for a 10:30 a.m. appointment. Darleen enjoyed the pork chop dinner from the Manor kitchen. Friday February 16th the Spartans girls and boys played basketball at James Valley Christian. The JV games weren’t on the school channel. The Springs Spartans Varsity girls won 50-45 and the Varsity boys won 66-47. Both teams showed great sportsmanship!
Saturday Darleen enjoyed the BBQ ribs, potato salad, baked beans and cake from the Manor kitchen.
Rhonda LePage stopped in at Darleen’s apartment – her granddaughter was selling Girl Scout cookies. Darleen bought a box of Pecan Delights.
Sunday Darleen’s great granddaughter Baleigh Sails spent all day with Darleen. Candi Sails was working at Walmart in Mitchell. Baleigh and Grandma Dar watched the Christian Worship Hour on TV. We enjoyed the dinner and pie from the Manor kitchen. Thanks to Elaine Roetman for stopping in with the Methodist Church bulletin. Candi got home at 8 p.m.
