Darleen Cuppy wrote her Cuppy’s Corner News Monday morning. Delia wasn’t feeling good, so Editor Kristi Hine came to get it. It was such a nice day Darleen went for a walk in the afternoon.
Tuesday Darleen enjoyed the ham dinner from the Manor kitchen. Darleen’s daughter Cindy Zenk of Webster was driving back from a meeting in Pierre. She stopped in with a small pizza and Pepsi for Darleen. Then she went to the gym for the Spartans boys’ basketball game with the Avon Pirates. The Spartans won 62-36. Cindy drove home after the game.
Judy Baumgart was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She served a nutrition bar and cookies. Attending were Darleen Higgins, Lorraine Schultz, Vera Salter, Kathy Larson, Joyce Mees and Darleen Cuppy.
Darleen enjoyed the meatloaf dinner from the Manor kitchen. Bingo was played at 2 p.m. Lyle Pawlowski called the numbers. Enjoying the afternoon were Joyce Mees, Ruth Jensen, Marlys Shryock, Shirley Bender, Darleen Higgins, Lynette Marken, Marilyn Robbins, Doris Deneke and Darleen Cuppy. Coffee and cookies were served by Shirley Bender.
Thursday Darleen Cuppy rode the Springs Area Bus to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop for a 10:30 a.m. appointment. Darleen enjoyed the pork chop dinner from the Manor kitchen.
Friday March 1st, Darleen enjoyed the 90th birthday dinner in the dining room for Luella Teveldal. It was hosted by her children, Kevin, Kent and Kari and their spouses. They served filled buns, soup, Angel food cake with homemade ice cream and strawberries. Guests were Donna Satter, Joyce Mees, Cecile Knight, Darleen Higgins, Marlys Shryock, Vera Salter, Kathy Larson, Lorraine Schultz, Diane Carlson, Ruth Jensen, Elaine Roetman, Lyle Pawlowski, Judy Baumgart, Eldora Hasz and her daughter Caroline Knight.
Friday evening Darleen Cuppy watched the Wessington Springs Spartans boys play the Corsica-Stickney Jaguars at the Corn Palace on the school channel. Marcus Damm did a great job announcing the games with Will Bruckner. The Spartans won 52-35. Darleen’s great grandson Brock Krueger had another great game.
Darleen Cuppy ordered her groceries from Springs Food Market Saturday forenoon. They were delivered in the afternoon. Darleen appreciates the service very much.
Darleen enjoyed the BBQ ribs, potato salad, baked beans and cornbread from the Manor kitchen Saturday noon.
Darleen Cuppy was planning to go to the Methodist Church Sunday morning but woke up with a miserable headache. So, she took a couple Tylenol and tried to sleep. Darleen enjoyed the turkey dinner and pie form the Manor kitchen. After dinner Darleen took another nap. Becky Bell Krueger came to check on Grandma Dar at 4 p.m. Darleen was much better.
