Darleen wrote her news Monday morning and Delia came to get it later in the forenoon. Darleen enjoyed the rib sandwich, baked beans, coleslaw and cake delivered by Rhonda LePage from the Senior Center. In the evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the Chicago White Sox. The Twins won 3-1. Darleen had ordered groceries from Springs Food Market in the forenoon. Ryan delivered them in the afternoon. Darleen appreciated the service.
Tuesday Darleen had dinner from the Senior Center. It was tater tot hot dish, green beans and cookies delivered by Joanne Grohs. In the evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins and ChicagoWhiteSox.TheTwins won again 6-5. Darleen’s daughter Candi Sails came to Darleen’s apartment to get her video frame going again. Darleen enjoys it so much!
Joyce Mees was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee on Wednesday, May Day. She served a lemon coffee cake and had a little container with two pieces of candy. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Darleen Higgins, Lorraine Schultz, Vera Salter, Judy Baumgart, Luella Teveldal, Kathy Larson and Darleen Cuppy.
Wednesday afternoon Darleen didn’t play cards – her niece Vicki (Cuppy) Kegler had called to say she is coming to visit. Vicki lives in Faulkton, her daughter April Schaefer from Denver CO, her sister Sandy (Cuppy) Maier of Brookings and Darleen’s daughter Cheryl Van Asperen of Wessington visited with Darleen Cuppy. It was nice to visit and catch up with family news.
Thursday Darleen enjoyed the Philly beef sandwich, green beans, coleslaw and cake from the Manor kitchen. It was a nice day, so Darleen went for a walk in the late afternoon.
Friday Darleen got a lot of birthday cards ready to send to family. Darleen enjoyed the chicken salad sandwich, potato salad, baked beans, and peach sauce from the Senior Center. Darleen’s Lewis Drug order was delivered by Reina Peterson Ford. Darleen appreciates the service.
Friday evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the Boston Red Sox. The Twins won 5-2.
Saturday Darleen Cuppy enjoyed the Festival of Tables at the Senior Center. Darleen’s daughters Cathy White, Ella Darleen and Nora Joanne of Sioux Falls and Cheryl Van Asperen of Wessington came. We enjoyed seeing all the beautiful tables and sitting at the table Jean Ferguson decorated in a Christmas theme. Others sitting at our table were Judy Baumgart, Luella Teveldal and Jean Ferguson. Luella won the door prize of a beautiful bouquet!! We enjoyed the lunch of chef salad and lemon cake. They were both very delicious.
Sunday Darleen Cuppy rode the bus to the Methodist Church 11 a.m. service. Lisa Edwards played a beautiful prelude. Pastor Cheri gave a welcome and prayer. We sang the hymn “He Lives.” Several joys were shared. We said the Lord’s Prayer. Graduates were recognized, WSHS senior Blake Larson, and 8th grade grads Bailey and Ryder Roduner. The families went down front. The graduates got a gift bag. After the Children’s Message a noisy offering was taken. Pastor Cheri’s sermon was New Beginnings. Communion was served by Pastor Cheri and Sarah Larson. We closed with the hymn “Beams of Heaven as I Go.”
Darleen Cuppy enjoyed the turkey dinner and berry pie from the Manor kitchen. Elaine Roetman visited Darleen on Sunday afternoon. Doris Deneke visited Darleen in the evening.
