“Cuppys Corner”

Darleen wrote her news Monday forenoon. Delia came to get it much later, as she attended the Memorial Day service. Darleen is proud of her family that have served. Her dad Mike Weeldreyer served in the Army, four brothers: Elmer – Army, Harvey – Marines, Roger – Navy and Robert (Bob) – Army. Also, two grandsons Brandon Cuppy – Air Force and Deion Sails – Army.

Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals game at 12:30 p.m. The Twins won.

Tuesday Darleen enjoyed the ham dinner and cake from the Manor kitchen. In the evening, she watched the Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals game. The Twins won again 4-2.

Wednesday Kathy Larson was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She served delicious jelly filled bismarks. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Vera Salter, Judy Baumgart, Luella Teveldal, Joyce Mees and Darleen Cuppy. Darleen enjoyed the roast beef dinner from the Manor kitchen. At 2 p.m. cards were played in the south dining room. Enjoying the afternoon were Joyce Mees, Doris Deneke, Luella Teveldal, Darleen Cuppy, Ruth Jensen, Shirley Bender, Marilyn Robbins and Marie Reindl. Marilyn Robbins served coffee and a delicious lemon dessert. Wednesday evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the Kansas City Royals. The Kansas City Royals won 6-1.

Thursday Darleen rode the bus to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop for her 10:30 a.m. appointment. Darleen enjoyed the pork chop dinner from the Manor kitchen. The Minnesota Twins and Royals played at noon. The Twins won 7-4. Darleen’s daughter Candi Sails got some things she needed from the Dollar General.

Friday Darleen enjoyed the pizza, salad and fruit from the Senior Center. Reina Peterson Ford delivered Darleen’s order from Lewis Drug. Darleen appreciates the service. It was a nice day, so Darleen went for a walk in the late afternoon. The Minnesota Twins played the Houston Astros at 7 p.m. The Twins won 6-1.

Saturday started the month of June. June 1st is Darleen’s daughter Cindy Zenk’s birthday and daughter Candi and Leion Sails anniversary. Darleen enjoyed the ribs, baked beans, coleslaw, cornbread and sauce from the Manor kitchen. The Minnesota Twins played the Houston Astros at 3 p.m. Houston won 5-2. It was a nice evening, so Darleen went for a walk.

Sunday Darleen rode the bus to the Methodist Church. Others riding were Elaine Roetman, Gladys Kieser, Rochelle Witte and Mary Lou Cameron. Lisa Edwards played a beautiful prelude. Pastor Cheri Van Gorp welcomed everyone and said a prayer. The choir with Kirk Luymes on guitar and Jan Krohmer on flute and members Laura Kieser, Sandy Wenzel, Diane Winter, Gretchen Burnison, Julie Kraft, Lila Hoffman, Darrel Winter and Chris Schimke sang “Ancient Words” and “The House of the Lord.” Jeff Kieser announced the rodeo is coming up and we need volunteers to help. Joys, concerns and a prayer by Pastor Cheri were said. We all said the Lord’s Prayer. The choir sang “We Remember Thee.” Pastor Cheri gave the Children’s Message. Then her sermon was “Your Enemy.” Communion was served by Pastor Cheri and Eileen (Kraft) Thomas. We closed with the hymn “Victory in Jesus.”

Darleen enjoyed the pork loin dinner and pie from the Manor kitchen. The Minnesota Twins played the Houston Astros at 1 p.m. Darleen couldn’t find it on her TV. Darleen’s daughter Cindy Zenk of Webster called, she found the score of the game. The Twins won 4-2.

Later in the evening Candi and Baleigh brought a delicious rib sandwich and coleslaw and Darleen’s favorite strawberry sundae from the Cone Zone. They stayed to visit a while. Darleen enjoyed it very much!
