“Cuppys Corner”

Darleen wrote her news Monday morning. Delia got it later in the forenoon.

Darleen enjoyed the hamburgers, green beans and blueberry dessert from the Manor. In the evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the Chicago White Sox. The Twins won 8-6 in the 10th inning!

Tuesday Darleen enjoyed the ham and cheese potatoes, peas and cake from the Manor kitchen. In the evening Candi and Baleigh Sails brought Darleen pizza and stayed to visit a while!

Wednesday Kathy Larson was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She served an assortment of sweet breads. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Lorraine Schultz, Vera Salter, Judy Baumgart, Joyce Mees, Luella Teveldal and Darleen Cuppy.

Darleen enjoyed the lasagna, lettuce salad, garlic bread and fruit cocktail from the Senior Center delivered by Joanne Grohs. The Minnesota Twins had a double header game with the Chicago White Sox at 1 p.m. The Chicago White Sox won 3-1. At 4 p.m. the Twins won 3-2.

Thursday Darleen rode the bus to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop for her 10:30 a.m. appointment. The Wessington Springs Owls had a game at 8 p.m. Darleen was hoping to hear Becky Krueger announcing from out front of the apartments, but she couldn’t. Howard and Darleen were big fans of the Owls. Howard made a foul ball holder in the grandstand. Their daughter Cindy and Fred Zenk had a plaque put by it. Darleen enjoyed Joe Butterfield’s letter in last week’s paper.

Friday Darleen enjoyed the tater tot hot dish, green beans and apple crisp from the Senior Center. Darleen was happy Becky and Brock Krueger came to visit in the evening. The Minnesota Twins played the San Francisco Giants at 9 p.m. San Francisco won 7-1.

Saturday Darleen enjoyed the ribs, baked beans, coleslaw and fruit cocktail from the Manor kitchen. The Minnesota Twins and San Francisco played at 6:15 p.m. The Twins won 4-2.

Sunday Darleen rode with her daughter Cheryl Van Asperen of Wessington to Parker for the 78th Wagner family reunion. Darleen’s mom Minnie Wagner married Mike Weeldreyer. A potluck dinner was enjoyed by 44 people. (Darleen furnished broasted chicken.) Darleen’s daughter Cathy Cuppy White, Nora and Chance of Sioux Falls organized the event. They did a great job! 44 attended: Minnie’s family had 11, Gertie’s family 23, Margaret’s family 2, Jack’s family 4, and Sophia’s family 4. The oldest attendee was Darleen Cuppy 91 years old in February and Cousin Viola Busim 91 years old in April. Joel Wagner came the farthest, 1800 miles from Connecticut. Doug and Darla Buseman were married the longest, 54 years, and the best potluck dish was Cathy Cuppy White with Calico Beans.

Candi and Baleigh Sails came to visit Darleen Sunday evening and brought chicken strips, coleslaw and potato salad. All very tasty! They stayed to visit a while.

Elaine Roetman stopped in with the Methodist Church bulletin.

“May you have a day filled with love and laughter.”
