Earlier this month, Pin Twisters Pink Ladies Dart League presented funds raised during their season to a local woman battling cancer, Evelyn Moralez.
“The Pink Ladies raised a total of $1200 during the season and chose to donate it to Evelyn,” explained Pin Twisters co-owner Betsy Schroeder. “We had 13 two-man teams that were co-ed or just women teams. Pin Twisters Pink Ladies is our non-profit organization to raise money for those struggling with cancer. The Pink ladies were established in South Dakota to raise money for women with breast cancer and their motto is ‘No One Fights Alone.’” A longtime Wessington Springs Humm-Dinger convenience store employee, Moralez was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in fall 2023 and earlier this year in February, she underwent a double mastectomy. After struggling with serious complications from her surgery that required hospitalization, she is now undergoing chemotherapy treatment and will begin radiation next month.
