“Cuppys Corner”

Darleen Cuppy wrote hernewsMondaymorning and Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon.

Darleen enjoyed the chicken fried steak dinner from the Senior Center delivered by Joanne Grohs. In the evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the Kansas City Royals. The Twins won 8-3.

Tuesday the Methodist women’s fellowship met in the dining room at 2 p.m. Sandy Beckman was hostess. She served delicious brownies with ice cream and root beer floats. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Pastor Cheri Van Gorp, Elaine Roetman, Gladys Kieser, Diane Winter, Mary Jane Belz, Diane Patton and Darleen Cuppy. The Twins played Kansas City in the evening. The Twins won again 5-2.

Wednesday Darleen Cuppy was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She had little purple plates with some pink and white striped napkins and some yellow and white striped napkins. Darleen served glazed donuts and yellow mints. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Joyce Mees, Lorraine Schultz, Judy Baumgart, Luella Teveldal and Kathy Larson. We always have treats for the mailman too.

Bingo was played at 2 p.m. Lyle Pawlowski called the numbers. Enjoying the afternoon were Ruth Jensen, Joyce Mees, Shirley Bender, Doris Deneke, Luella Teveldal, Judy Baumgart, Lynette Marken and Darleen Cuppy. Darleen furnished cookies for coffee time.

Becky Bell Krueger was out for a walk in the evening and stopped in to visit Grandma Dar.

Thursday forenoon Darleen Cuppy rode the bus to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop. Darleen had salmon loaf, baked potato and applesauce dinner from the Senior Center. In the evening, she watched the Minnesota Twins and the Texas Rangers play. The Twins won 4-3.

Darleen got a summer cold, runny nose, sore throat and headache, etc. Granddaughter Becky Bell Krueger got some throat spray and Nyquil for Darleen. Darleen also used Vicks under her nose and on her chest and feels some better.

Friday August 16 Darleen had the goulash dinner from the Senior Center. Her daughter Cindy and Fred Zenk of Webster came for Cindy’s class reunion. Fred stayed and watched the Twins and Texas game with Darleen. Cindy went to the Wenzel’s Lodge to meet with the classmates.

Saturday Cindy and Fred visited with Darleen in the forenoon. Darleen enjoyed the Salisbury steak dinner from the Manor kitchen. Darleen watched the Minnesota Vikings and the Browns play at 3:30 p.m. The Vikings won 27-12. At 6 p.m. the Minnesota Twins played the Texas Rangers. The Twins won 5-2.

Cindy and Fred Zenk enjoyed her class reunion banquet at Wenzel’s Lodge. Heather Larson of Sweet Grass delivered prime rib etc. to the lodge. Cindy and Fred drove home to Webster.

Darleen didn’t go to church Sunday morning since she still had a sore throat and congestion. She slept quite a bit during the day. Darleen watched the Christian Worship Hour sermon by Pastor Salem on TV. She had the turkey dinner and custard pie from the Manor kitchen.

Candy and Baleigh came over Sunday evening, Candi heated up some chicken noodle soup and made a grilled cheese sandwich. It was very tasty! “TLC” “It’s more than okay to take care of yourself.”
