“Cuppys Corner”

Darleen Cuppy wrote her news Monday morning and Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon.

Darleen enjoyed the hamburger, tater tots, green beans and blueberry dessert from the Manor kitchen. Monday evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the San Diego Padres game. San Diego won 5-3.

Tuesday Darleen enjoyed the ham dinner and cake from the Manor kitchen. In the evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the San Diego Padres. San Diego won again 7-5.

Wednesday Kathy Larson was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee hour. She had pretty plates and lavender napkins. She served mini lemon muffins and donut holes. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Joyce Mees, Luella Teveldal, Judy Baumgart and Darleen Cuppy. Susan Salterof Alpenastoppedin to visit a while. Darleen’s daughter Cheryl Van Asperen of Wessington stopped in to visit in the afternoon after golf. She takes Craig to many doctor appointments in Sioux Falls. Wednesday evening Darleen watched the Minnesota Twins play the San Diego Padres. The Twins won big 11-4!

School started on Wednesday August 21. Darleen’s great granddaughter Baleigh Grace Sails is in the 8th grade.

Thursday Darleen didn’t go to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop. She didn’t feel very good and rested most of the day. She did feel better in the late afternoon and sat outside and visited with Stacy, daughter of Donna Larson Harmdierks of Huron.

Friday Darleen got lots of mail ready to send to family members. She enjoyed the beef tips on noodles and pudding from the Manor kitchen. Candi and Baleigh Sails visited in the evening and brought some sweet corn and watermelon. Friday evening Darleen watched the Blackhawks football game with the Sea Hawks on the school channel #382. The Blackhawks won 28-13.

Saturday Darleen enjoyed the BLT sandwich, cucumber salad and ice cream from the Manor kitchen. Then she watched the Minnesota Vikings play the Philadelphia Eagles. The Vikings won 26-3. In the evening, she watched the Minnesota Twins play the St. Louis Cardinals. The Twins won 6-0.

Sunday Darleen Cuppy and Rochelle Witte rode the bus with Jim Dienes to the Methodist Church. Pastor Cheri Van Gorp welcomed everyone and said a prayer. Pastor Cheri played the piano as we sang “Great is the Lord”, “How Majestic is Your Name” and “Glorify Thy Name.” Several joys and concerns were shared. We all said the Lord’s Prayer. We had the noisy offering and the regular offering, then sang the Doxology. We sang the hymn “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.” Pastor Cheri’s sermon was “The Jordan Before Us.” We closed with the hymn “Wade in the Water.”

Darleen enjoyed the BBQ ribs, baked beans, coleslaw and ice cream from the Manor kitchen. Sunday afternoon Darleen enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and the Minnesota Twins baseball game.
