Foothills News: “Cuppy’s Corner”

I am writing my Cuppy’s Corner News on Sunday evening because I hope I can see a doctor Monday morning. I have a rash that has been bothering me.

Last Monday I enjoyed a hamburger, tator tots, green beans and pudding from the Manor kitchen. Our water was turned off at about 1:30 p.m., they have been working on the road by the apartments, putting in new water and sewer pipes. The water came back on at about 9:30 p.m. My daughter Candi Sails brought me two 1-gallon bottles of water in the afternoon.

Tuesday, I enjoyed the ham dinner and cake from the Manor kitchen. At 2:30 p.m. the Methodist women’s fellowship met in our dining room. Attending were Mary Lou Cameron, Darleen Cuppy, Pastor Cheri Van Gorp, Sandra Fuerst, Rochelle Witte, Eileen Thamas and friend Debra Torgenson, Diane Winter, Mary Jane Belz, Julie Kraft, Judy Lewis, Sandy Wenzel. Cheryl Manthei and Diane Patton were hostess and served Ritz crackers and a delicious strawberry dessert, coffee and tea. Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. I watched the Minnesota Twins play the Texas Rangers. The Texas Rangers won big 16-4.

Wednesday June 11, Kathy Brandenburg was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She served mini muffins and mini cinnamon rolls. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Lorraine Schultz, Judy Baumgart, Darleen Cuppy, Joyce Mees and Luella Teveldal. Thanks to Lorraine Schultz for making and serving the coffee. Wednesday evening, I watched the Minnesota Twins play the Texas Rangers. The Minnesota Twins won 6-2.

Thursday, I rode the bus with Joanne Grohs to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop for my 10:30 a.m. appointment. Thursday noon I enjoyed the pizza, lettuce salad, and peach sauce from the Manor kitchen. Later the Texas Rangers played the Minnesota Twins. The Texas Rangers won big 163.

Friday, I had a beef sandwich, some potato chips and pudding for dinner. I went for a walk at 1:30 p.m., it was quite windy and cool.

Saturday, I enjoyed one of my favorite meals from the manor kitchen, BBQ ribs, baked beans, coleslaw and cornbread. At 3 p.m. the Minnesota twins played the Houston Astros. Houston won 3-2.

Sunday was Father’s Day. I didn’t go to church since I didn’t feel good. I watched the Christian Worship Hour with Pastor Harold Salem on TV. I enjoyed a roast beef sandwich and some watermelon. My granddaughter Becky Bell Krueger came in the evening. She had gotten something I needed and stayed to visit a while!
