Basketball camp offers unique training opportunity close to home

Wessington Springs High School (WSHS) student Ryder Michalek is hosting a youth basketball camp next month as part of his senior experience project.

The camp is slated for November 23, with 5th and 6th grade scheduled for 8-10 a.m. and 3rd and 4th graders from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Michalek said this camp is many years in the making.

“I have always thought about doing this project ever since I was a little kid. This community has done so much for me and all I want to do is give back,” he said. “I want to help grow our youths’ skills and passion for athletics. Basketball is a great thing to do for students as it has helped shape me to the personIam.Itinvolveshard work and determination. Michalek asks parents to text him at 605-680-2917 with their name, student’s name and grade to register.
