Volunteers Roll Out the Orange Carpet on Season Opener Weekend

Out-of-town visitors and locals alike flocked to the Wessington Springs Elementary Gymnasium on the eve before Pheasant Season Opener last Friday, kicking off the seasonlong celebration with food, friendship and fun at the annual Wessington Springs Chapter Banquet.

“On behalf of the chapter, we want to thank everyone for their support at last Friday evening’s Pheasants Forever fundraising banquet. From the sponsors who help make this event possible, to the volunteers who do all the meaningful work, and to the attendees who come out and support the chapter and mission, we thank you,” said Wessington Springs Pheasants Forever Chapter President Paul Sheldon.

Nearly 250 attendees filled the gymnasium to enjoy a nice meal served up by Jack Link’s plus participate in games, raffles and a live auction. All proceeds raised go toward the mission of the local Wessington Springs Pheasants Forever Chapter.

“The banquet helps us fund future projects for the following year where we always strive to keep assistance and spending local,” said Sheldon. “The chapter remains committed to putting our best foot forward to deliver on the Pheasants Forever mission and represent all of you for many years to come.”
