“Floaties and Flicks” Event and Swim Lessons Coming to Alpena Pool

The Alpena Swimming Pool is kicking off summer fun with its 1st Annual “Floaties and Flicks” event on Monday, June 30. The evening will feature food, games, and a movie under the stars.

Hot dogs and walking tacos will be served from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by poolside games from 6 to 9 p.m. The featured movie will begin at 9:30 p.m., with guests encouraged to bring their floaties and enjoy the show from the water.

In addition, the pool is tentatively planning to offer a session of swimming lessons from July 28 through August 1. Lesson times will depend on enrollment numbers, with the following schedule: Level 1: 5:00–5:30 p.m.

Level 2: 5:30–6:00 p.m. Level 3: 6:00–6:45 p.m. Level 4: 6:45–7:30 p.m. Level 5+: 7:30–8:15 p.m.

Families are encouraged to sign up early to help finalize class times.
