“Cuppy’s Corner”

I wrote Cuppy’s Corner News Monday morning. Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon. I enjoyed the hamburger, tater tots and strawberry dessert from the Manor kitchen. My daughter Candi Sails took me to a 1 p.m. appointment with Dr. Lance Lim for a check-up and I received my flu shot.

Tuesday, I had physical therapy at 10:30 a.m. with Brittany. I enjoyed the ham dinner and cake from the Manor kitchen. In the evening, I enjoyed the “Country Christmas Show” on TV.

Wednesday’s 9 a.m. coffee was hosted by Luella Teveldal. She served delicious caramel rolls made by Marla Ness. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Joyce Mees, Lorraine Schultz, Pastor Nancy Rieke, Judy Baumgart and me. Verla Barber decorated the Christmas tree in the dining room with help from Judy Baumgart, Luella Teveldal and Joyce Mees. They put the Nativity scene on the piano and other beautiful Christmas decorations on the bookcase, TV stand and windowsills.

Bingo was played at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Lyle Pawlowski called the numbers. Enjoying the afternoon were Joyce Mees, Ruth Jensen, Doris Deneke, Judy Baumgart, Shirley Bender, Luella Teveldal and me. Coffee and delicious cookies from Shirley Bender and Doris Deneke were enjoyed. Lyle Pawlowski put the star on the Christmas tree.

Thursday my daughter Candi Sails came in the morning and used a massager on my sore neck. I rode the bus with Rhonda LePage to Angie Mentzer’s for my 10:30 a.m. appointment. My granddaughter Baleigh Sails came after school and ate supper with me. Candi came to get her about 9:30 p.m. after work.

Friday, I enjoyed the pizza, lettuce salad and sauce from the Manor kitchen. I had physical therapy with Jen Jensen at 2:30 p.m. My daughter Candi got some groceries for me. At 7 p.m. the middle school/high school Christmas concert was on the school channel on TV. Baliegh Sails and classmates sounded great!

Saturday Baleigh Sails spent the day with me while Candi was at work. We enjoyed the BBQ ribs and baked beans, cornbread and sauce from the Manor kitchen.

Sunday morning Rochelle Witte, Elaine Roetman and I rode the bus to the Methodist Church. I sat with Candi Sails and Baleigh. Lisa Edwards played a beautiful prelude. The Advent candle of Peace was lit by Eileen Kraft Thomas. The message “Manger Tales” was presented by the C.O.W. Club (Come On Wednesday). The children had readings, and we all sang “What Child Is This”, “O Little Town of Bethlehem”, “Silent Night”, “Go Tell It on the Mountain”, “Joy to the World”, and “Away in a Manger.” The Tree of Love ornaments were hung on the Christmas tree in memory of family members. The Offering was taken by Pastor Cheri and Doug Van Gorp and the “Doxology” was sung. We closed with the hymn “Angels from the Realm of Glory.”

I enjoyed the delicious roast beef dinner and pie from the Manor kitchen. Then I watched the Minnesota Vikings play the Atlanta Falcons. The Vikings won big 42-21! “May you have a day filled with love and laughter.”
