The Wessington Springs Area Community Youth Group will hold their kick-off event on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. The event will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran church at 210 Dunham Ave N in Wessington Springs, SD. There will be games, supper, music and fellowship. All youth age 7th through 12th grade are invited.
The WS Area Community Youth Group began in 2007 when several of the area churches decided to combine to form one youth group, open to any area youth (not just those who were members of a church). Their mission has been to promote Christian values as the guiding force in the lives of our area youth/students.
They will meet every Wednesday evening in October through April (with breaks for holidays). A meal is served at 6:30 p.m. followed by praise, worship and fellowship from 7 to 8 p.m. The meals are provided and served by the area churches. Along with the above activities, community service activities are planned. The first one will be held on Wednesday, October 29, when the youth group will be canvassing Wessington Springs for donations to the local food pantry (if you live out of town and would like to donate, please drop off your donation to an area church).
