Foothills News: “Cuppy’s Corner”

I wrote my news Monday morning. Delia Atkinson came to get it later in the forenoon. I enjoyed the ham dinner and peach sauce from the Manor kitchen. Mike Krueger got some groceries for me. At 6:30 p.m. I watched the MN Twins play the NY Yankees. The Twins won 7-0 over the NY Yankees!

Tuesday, Pastor Cheri visited me in the forenoon. I enjoyed the chicken dinner and carrot cake from the Manor kitchen. In the evening, I watched the MN Twins play the NY Yankees. NY Yankees won 10-9. My granddaughter Becky Krueger helped me with several things. I am very grateful!

Wednesday Joyce Mees was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee. She had pumpkins for the centerpiece, small orange plates and napkins with fall leaves. She served delicious coffee cake and a small Hershey bar. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Lorraine Schultz, Darleen Cuppy, Luella Teveldal, Kathy Brandenburg, Judy Baumgart, and the mail lady Millie. My daughter Cheryl Van Asperen of Huron visited me in the afternoon.

Wednesday, at 6:30 p.m. I watched the MN Twins play the NY Yankees. NY Yankees won 10-5.

Thursday I was going to call the bus for a ride to Angie Mentzer’s beauty shop. The telephone didn’t work – I went to my neighbor Doris Deneke to see if her phone worked. She tried it – it didn’t work either. Her son was there; he had a cell phone and called Venture. The phone worked soon after that. Joanne Grohs drove me to Angie Mentzer’s for my trim, shampoo and set. I enjoyed the Philly beef sandwich, peas and cake from the Manor kitchen. The Twins didn’t play today.

Friday Rhonda LePage delivered my order from Lewis Drug. I enjoyed a chicken sandwich, corn and pudding. At 7 p.m. I watched the MN Twins play the Cleveland Guardians. Cleveland won 6-2.

Saturday, I enjoyed the hot beef sandwich, peas, and cake from the Manor kitchen. At 6 p.m. the MN Twins played the Cleveland Guardians. Cleveland won again, 6-0.

Sunday, I didn’t go to the Methodist Church, my leg hurt so bad I had to keep it elevated. I did watch the Christian Worship Hour with Pastor Salem on TV. Later Elaine Roetman brought me the church bulletin and visited a while. I enjoyed the turkey dinner and pie from the Manor kitchen. I watched the MN Vikings play the Cincinnati Bengals. The Vikings won big 48-10. Later I watched the MN Twins play Cleveland. The Twins won 6-2. In the evening, I went for a walk.
