Genevieve Wooledge, age 79, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 at her home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota under hospice.
Genevieve Mae Rohrbauck, daughter of Fred and Helen (Hinzman) Rohrbauck, was born on August 18, 1942 in Chamberlain, South Dakota. She attended Chamberlain High School until the 10th grade so that she could help raise her siblings.
On October 2, 1960, Genevieve was united in marriage to Richard Wooledge, Sr. in Chamberlain, South Dakota. The couple soon became loving parents to their four children, Renee, Randy, Richard Jr. and Ronald.
Genevieve babysat children for many years in both Gann Valley and Huron, South Dakota. Gen and Dick both enjoyed watching the little ones.
Genevieve loved to go to dances especially with her husband, Richard. Genevieve loved to go camping with family on the weekends. Later in life they helped build their campground in Gann Valley which held their camper, Randy’s cabin and Rick’s cabin. Many campfires were enjoyed there with family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Skipbo – she could be a tough competitor when playing, many people would hear that little giggle if she thought she got the best of you! However, Gen’s greatest passion was spending time with family and her friends.
Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Renee Macy of Tripp and her friend Daniel Healy of Utica, Randy (Anne) Wooledge of Amarillo, TX and Richard “Rick” (Charnelle) Wooledge of Sioux Falls; 11 grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Jerry Rohrbauck of Bonnerdale, AR, Robert (Barb) Rohrbauck of Pittsburgh, PA, Cherrie (Don) Noble of Mitchell, SD and Donald Rohrbauck of Oacoma, SD; and many other family and friends.
