LuAnn Kay Willman, 68, of Ames, IA, died peacefully Saturday, September 12, 2026, at her sister’s home in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services will be Friday, September 18, at Heritage Funeral Home in Sioux Falls. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. with memorial service at 3 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Ames, IA. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel. LuAnn was born March 1, 1958, to Arden and Bonnie (McCurdy) Froseth in Sioux Falls, SD. The family lived on a farm near Garretson until 1964, at which time they moved to Brandon, SD. She attended Brandon Valley schools K-12, graduating in 1976. After high school, she moved to California. She spent five years in the Huntington Beach area, wheresheattendedCoastal Community College and earned an office manager certification. In 1981, LuAnn moved back to South Dakota, where she worked for Sturdevant’s Auto Parts and Sioux Valley Clinic.
September 3, 2000, LuAnn and Michael Willman were wed in Sioux Falls. They lived together in Ames, Iowa, where LuAnn was employed as office manager for Sargent Metal Fabricating, retiring in 2021.
LuAnn loved gardening, bird watching, and nature. She enjoyed entertaining friends and family outdoors and would give tours of her abundant flowers, fountains, and evergreens. She also enjoyed feeding birds (cardinals and hummingbirds were her favorites). LuAnn was always up for a nature walk with Mike and her friends and did this often. With the advent of e-bikes, she took up husband Mike’s passion for cycling and would go for long rides together, often stopping for a trail-side treat. When LuAnn retired, she also rekindled her passion for exercise and was a regular gym attendee. LuAnn was a very gentle and spiritual being and loved attending bible study with friends.
LuAnnissurvivedbyher husband, Mike; brothers, Terry Froseth of Brandon and Jason (Misty) Froseth of Hot Springs, SD; sister, Judy (Robert) Woodbridge of Sioux Falls; father-inlaw, Maynard Willman; siblings-in-law, Todd, Tony (Ellen), David (April) Willman, Lisa (Clif) Mauer. She had six nieces (two Goddaughters) and nine nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and mother-in-law, Dorothy.
