LYNN TODD JACOMET

Lynn Todd Jacomet passed away October 6, 2025, with his daughter Paige by his side at Avera McKennan Hospital.

Lynn was born on December 27, 1958 to William (Bill) and Dolores Jacomet in Sioux Falls. He started school in Mitchell until 1967 when they moved to Wessington Springs. In 1974 the family then moved to Pierre. Cooking has always been part of this family. Lynn said he worked at Taco John’s and claims he invented the Taco Bravo when he was 14 years old. Dolores managed the Miner’s Restaurant in Keystone, SD along with children Jeff, Lynn, Carla and Mike for two tourist seasons.

Lynn graduated from high school in 1978. He loved motorcycles and the Sturgis Rally was always the annual vacation.

During a Christmas play when he was younger, he had two lines “Mary had a baby, Mary had a baby.”

In 1980 he married Mary Tetrick and had a baby girl in 1981 named Melissa. They divorced in 1983. That year he also ended up in a serious motorcycle accident at age 25 and ended up losing his hearing and being blind in one eye.

After attending the School for the Deaf in Sioux Falls, he attended the Baking and Chef Program at Mitchell Vo-Tech.

After meeting Mary Badhorse a second daughter was born in 1992, Paige Ann-Marie. In 1995 Lynn and Paige moved to Wessington Springs and Lynn cooked in local restaurants.

In 2008 Lynn married Ellen Miranda until 2011. The last 15 years he has been retired living in Mitchell, Woonsocket and Wessington Springs.

Lynn is survived by daughters Paige (Damion) Clover of Wessington Springs, Melissa Jacomet of Nisland, grandchildren Tyler, Mashayla, Jay, Logan, Alexa and Chase, sisters Cheryl (Chet) Manthei, Carla (Jon) Niemeyer and brother Michael Jacomet. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jeffrey Jacomet and his grandparents.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at the Springs Inn party room at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
