Olaf Albert Teveldal was born October 16, 1922 to Peder and Ida Teveldal. He was the third of 10 children. He was baptized and confirmed at Earlville Lutheran Church.
On January 28, 1945, Ole married Elizabeth Wahl in Wolsey, SD. Ole and Liz were blessed with two children, Lee Allen and Sheila. They farmed from 1945 until 1990 in Jerauld and Hand Counties. After Liz, farming was the love of his life. Ole and Liz worked very hard to make a living on the farm. Part of this hard work for many years included milking cows every morning and evening without the pleasure of any time off. Ole was thrilled to have his son, Lee Allen, follow in his footsteps and live in the same yard with his wife and their three sons.
In 1990, Ole and Liz moved to Wessington Springs to retire. He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, golfing, doing janitorial work at the church and mowing at Shakespeare Garden, but his favorite was going out to the farm to work. He would say farming was the best job ever. In fact, he last worked on the farm at the ripe old age of 97! Liz passed away on December 23, 2016. His life would never be the same.
Survivors include two children Lee Allen (Linda) Teveldal and Sheila (Tom) Baruth. Surviving grandchildren are Brett (Corynne), Bryce (Faith) and Brady (Jen) Teveldal as well as Shayna (Matt) Leahy and Tori White. Also surviving are 11 great grandchildren, Bo, Brodee, and Baily Teveldal, Riley Thorpe, Jenna and Raygen Teveldal, Kylie Gross, Beckett Olaf Teveldal, Asher and Quinn Leahy and Keller White. He is also survived by a brother, Ivan, and a sister in law, Luella, as well as many very special nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be distributed to local charitable organizations.
