“Cuppy’s Corner” by Dar Cuppy

Darleen Cuppy wrote her Cuppy’s Corner news Monday morning. Delia Atkinson got it later in the forenoon.

Darleen’s daughter Candi Sails and Deion came Monday forenoon and did some errands for her.

Darleen enjoyed the roast beef dinner from the Manor kitchen Monday noon.

Darleen Cuppy enjoyed a nice afternoon on Tuesday. Candi Sails came and took Darleen to the bank and Dollar General for a little shopping and then to the Cone Zone for a tasty strawberry sundae. Darleen bought a mini Hawaiian Pizza to have for supper.

Stella Kraft was hostess for our 9 a.m. coffee on Wednesday. She served crackers and cheese and coffeecake. Enjoying the food and fellowship were Lorraine Schultz, Vera Salter, Eldora Hasz, Kathy Larson, Luella Teveldal, Joyce Mees and Darleen Cuppy.

Cards were played at 2 p.m. in the south dining room. We had three tables playing 10-point pitch. Enjoying were Lyle and Lenora Pawlowski, Luella Teveldal, Marilyn Robbins, Ruth Jensen, Lynette Marken, Joyce Mees, Doris Deneke, Shirley Bender, Joanne (Mees) Hein and Darleen Cuppy. Joanne and Darleen started at the head table and had good luck and were there quite a while. It was fun! Ruth Jensen served a delicious cake dessert and coffee for lunch.

Darleen Cuppy visited Pat Mettler after cards. Margaret Kraft was there too. It was nice to visit with her a bit too.

Thursday Darleen Cuppy enjoyed the scalloped potatoes and ham dinner from the Senior Center. It was delivered by Joanne Grohs. Later Joanne brought a beautiful pink rose “Just Because.” Joanne is so kind and thoughtful.

Friday was April 1, April Fool’s Day! Darleen did not fool anyone. When her kids were home, she usually did some silly thing.

Darleen Cuppy enjoyed watching the SDSU girls play Seton Hall at 2 p.m. Saturday. Frost Arena had over 5,000 fans! SDSU won 82-50.

Darleen’s granddaughter Becky Bell Krueger stopped in Saturday afternoon and gave her a program for the prom Grand March. Becky has been the junior class advisor many years. Darleen enjoyed watching the Grand March at 8 p.m. on the school channel. All the girls looked beautiful, and all the boys looked handsome! The theme was “A Night in the Garden.” It was very pretty.

Sunday Darleen Cuppy rode the bus to the Methodist Church, (Delia is always so kind and helpful.) Lisa Edwards played a beautiful prelude. The Responsive Reading was led by Pastor Kingery. We sang “House of the Lord.” Pastor Zach led us in prayer. Gerald Kraft led the Communion reading. Communion was served by Elton and Julie Kaus, Mary Lou Cameron and Tasha Waters. A beautiful Anthem was sung by the choir; Diane Winter, Sandy Wenzel, Lila Hoffman, Jan Krohmer, Linda and Kirk Luymes. Pastor Zach had a large group for Young Disciples Moment. They sang “Joy to the Lord.’ Pastor Kingery’s inspirational sermon was “If I Understood Sooner.” We closed with the hymn “I Stand Amazed.” Benediction was Ephesians 3:20.

“The greatest gift of life is friendship.”
